Here at the Kathy Loghry Blogspot we are always attuned to requests from our readers. So when I heard "More jumpsuits!" I thought "Yes, more jumpsuits it will be!!" And the request was specifically for disco jumpsuits!!
"Awesome" I thought..........except that the Big Book catalogs of the 70s were a little light on the whole disco thing (I'm not sure why, perhaps they knew most of the actual buyers were moms and grandmas.) Sooooooo, here is my best shot at fulfilling that request.
Not sure this is exactly disco. After all Kathy and Jane Cullen are just way too cute to pull off the disco look. Still, they look ready to step out and party!! (1)
This is more like it!! Flared bell bottoms, midriff cutouts, and plunging necklines, oh my!! Time to get get your boogie on!!
Speaking of plunging necklines!!
We're not after "Value", we're after disco!! And Aldens comes up a bit short here. Still Kathy looks great!!
Yep, not disco, but definitely cute!!
Just when you think the Big Book catalogs couldn't produce, we have a jumpsuit in the slinkiest, sexiest, body-conscious knits around!!
The year is only 1971, but this eye-catching yellow piece would fit in nicely in the discotheques of the late 70s.
She's a maniac, manic on the floor. And she's dancing like she never danced before. See what I mean. Here we are in the late 70s and just a few short years shy of Flashdance. Hey, what happened to her foot?
There it is. Yep, we're definitely in the disco era here!! Just add a mirror ball and some strobe lights and we're ready to shake, shake, shake.....shake , shake, shake....shake your booty....shake your booty.
Yes, the jumpsuits of the disco era were great fun!! may they live i our memory forever!!

K Club Special: Part 23 - Laura Jones!
Thanks to some of my loyal readers, we finally, FINALLY, learned the of name of one of my favorite "Mystery Models" Of course, it's not like I was obsessed with her or anything, no, no, no of course NOT!! (well maybe a little).
Laura Jones is her name, and she was a regular in the Big Book catalogs of the late 70s and early 80s.
She definitely had "The Look." However, I haven't been able to find out much else about her career. So this post is going to be heavy on the catalog pics!
This pic from Ford Agency is courtesy of a reader who told me where to find it. It says that she has excellent hands and legs. I guess that means that she would make a good wide receiver?!?
Her career overlapped Kathy's. With gals like this hanging around the dock, I feel the sudden urge to take up sailing. Meet me over at The Yacht Club!!
Whether in Aldens, Penneys, Sears, or like here in Wards, Laura always made the groovy catalog of the fashions look like fun!
I had to throw in one more pic of Laura with Kathy!
Nice bow tie!!
Since this is the 70s, we have ot have at least one pic of the classic pointy collars!
Tunics and rope belts of the 70s!!
Very nice!
I'll keep looking for some more info and material on Laura for future posts!!
Once final pic which I've had before....
Laura on the cover of the Aldens 1976 FW catalog.. I had to include that!!

The Big Book Catalog Series - Part 8 1971 Revisited!!
Wait!! What the heck? We already did the 1971 Big Books in previous posts, so what gives?? Well, some how I - you're humble blogger - maybe a horrible and tragic mistake. Yes, I know, I know "how can this be?!?!" Well some how when we did the Big Book Catalog posts of 1971, I did the JCP SS version TWICE and left out the FW version altogether. Well that just will not do!! Not with all the grooviness that we can find from that tome!!!
Let's see, one, two, three, FOUR gals to one guy - how do I get a gig like that!!
"The New Fashion Fun!" Yep, the early 70s were a time of fashion turmoil. Caught between the hippie 60s and the disco craze of the late 70s, the early 70s searched for the next big thing. So one sees a mix of 60s and, ah, well something else.....
Nice closeup of Kathy especially with the button up, pointy collar tunic!!
Yeah, not sure what's happening here - definitely not 60s but not disco either. Still it's pretty groovy if you ask me!
There's a hint of late 70s disco here, but there's also a late 60s groove going on also. The 60s were not going softly into that good night!!
But wait!! Just when you thought the early 70s were going into some kinda of post 60s commune kumbaya, along come some bright Navy gold colors to spice things up!!!
Yep, the early 70s fashions just didn't know where to go. Now we see peasant dresses and some sort of knickers. Disco is still off in the distant horizon......
We've explored the relationship between JCP and Mary Quaint before. Still these are some pretty happening threads!
Everyone is stepping out to the beat of the music. It's just not disco music - yet. If they only knew.....
Not sure what the guy is doing here. Maybe he is Penny's version of the Spiegel Magic Man! (1)
Kathy and Karen give a sampling of some of the fashion direction(s) of that time. However, they could make anything look groovy.
Yep, "Just Like the Good Old Days" for sure. Of course, now the early 70s are the "good old days." Life moves on.
