Uniforms!!

So these are all uniforms so why the tea?  or is it coffee??

So nothing says "uniform" like all white!!  Kind of boring.  Let's spice it up a bit!!

I have no idea what kind of uniforms these are!!  But at least they aren't all white!!

Okay, I have never seen uniforms like these at any pizza place I've been in!!

Anyone up for a safari??  S&H had the unis for you!!

What everyone needs: aprons!! And not only that put his 'n hers matching aprons no less!!

Speaking of cooking.....

You'll be looking great in these classic chef's outfits (complete with a puffy hat!!)

Random Goodness: Uniforms!!!

S&H put out some groovy style of uniforms in the 70s....

Nice pic of Kathy, but it's in black and white, where's the color?

Well here we have the traditional nurse's hat (where did those go?!??!0  And Karen is looking uber cute in those one piece jean shorts, but where did Kathy go???

Well at least here, we have the color in these colorful uniforms...

And finally Kathy's back with Karen...

Karen and Kathy again, but the gal in the short jumpsuit with skirt outfit steals this show.  Is that a nurses's uniform or, maybe, a sexy Halloween nurse costume???  Either way S&H had you covered (or not really covered)!!

Yawn... back to the black and white pics, but at least they have the groovy hats!!!

A smiling Colleen, Kathy, and Karen show us some short dress uniforms. Nurses certainly had style back then!!

More styles from S&H!!  What a catalog!!!  I certainly wish they had these uniform fashions today!!

Random Goodness: So What Happened to the Hats??

The idea for this post came to me recently when my daughter had to stay at our place for a few days because the roof on her town home was being replaced. You see, being a night shift nurse, she has to sleep during the day.

Which gave me the opportunity to once again ask "So what happened to the hats???"

Yeah, I mean the little white nurse's hat (you just KNOW that my daughter loves it when I bring this up!!)  I loved the hats!!!  What the heck happened to them???

White hats and white outfits, that was the standard nurses uniform at one time!!

Some nurse's hats were bigger than others. Perhaps that denoted some kind of rank or something.

Even back in 1972, you could start to see the trend away from the hats....

And away from the all white uniforms.  That made Kathy, and even Colleen, smile!!

Still I miss the hats, just don't mention it to my daughter!!

K Club Special, Part 44 - Karen Bruun, Part 6!!

Time for another K Club Special, and another feature on Karen Bruun!!

And we'll start off with some groovy knit caps!  Can't beat that!!

Of course Karen was a mainstay in the Big Book and, well, Little Book catalogs during the 70s.  Here she is in Jewel Tea. Hey wait!  BTW that is NOT Kathy in the inset pic!

Here we go with the mainstay of Big Book catalogs - Sears!!

Back to the Little Books.  Here is Karen on the cover of Lane Bryant!!

And another Little Book  S&H Uniforms!!

Another look from Lane Bryant!!  Very nice!

SO we'll finish with a couple of Sears pics from 1978 which was rather late in Karen's long career!

Khakis with groovy accessories!!

And one more bonus pic................

Back to earlier in Karen's career, a rare find.  A Saks Pith Avenue ad (thanks to Blue Senshi!)

Inauguration Day Special - MUGA!! (Part 3)

Okay I know that to venture anywhere near the political arena in the current highly charged atmosphere is playing with fire, but hear me out.  I'm not talking about MAGA.  I'm talking about MUGA - Make Uniforms Great Again!

"Were uniforms ever great?" you may ask.  Well in the words of one former VP candidate: "You Betcha!"

And for proof, look no further than "Bandana Americana."  Yep I feel the greatness returning to our fair land already!  These awesome uniforms make the hills bloom and the skies bright and sunny........Well, at least here in this obviously fake background they do!!

"But I don't want to wear a puffy shirt!"  Hey what's this with the "Authentic English Tudor Look?" Well I guess that we're making uniforms great again on both sides of the Atlantic!

"But I don't want to wear a puffy hat!"  No matter, the fields are still green and the skies bright blue and......the background is still fake.  Is that like fake news??

Traditional uniforms made great again! MUGA baby!
Hmmm, the guy with the 70s porn 'stache is leering at Kay who seems to be bravely trudging on as professionally as possible.  How is this making uniforms great again is beyond me!

Oh boy, this post is going downhill fast!  Now 70s porn 'stache guy is moving in on Laura.  You can almost hear her say through gritted teeth  "Don't. Touch. Me."

Well at least this guy lost the 'satche.  What is it about these guys in this catalog? (1)

Okay, back to the groovy coordinated uniforms that bring bright sunny skies to our cities, er, our FAKE cities!!

At least Kathy didn't have to pose with stache man!!

"The hills are alive with......The New Western Look uniforms from S&H????"

Okay this is just bizarre.  At first glance, it's just your normal lab uniforms.  You know, standard stuff. That just will NOT do for this groovy S&H catalog.  No, no, no!!  So they had to throw in the fake background of a park and a vial of fake blood (at least let's hope that it's fake!).  Like I said, bizarre.

Now let's not forget about our nation's manufacturing centers!  S&H has you covered with the Ms Gear line.  Except that the metal hardhats are, ahem, not allowed anymore.  No matter!  We're making those uniforms great again also!!

Oh dear, now we have the, ahem, "hospitality" collection.   I'm thinking that those uniforms are pretty great already!

Yee haw, ride 'em cowboy!  I do believe that we have indeed made uniforms great again!!

And to think that when I did my first post on 70s uniforms I thought that it was a "one off."  That is, there wasn't enough material for any other posts on the subject.  Boy was I wrong  I should have believed in MUGA!!

Okay, okay, we may have "jumped the shark" here.  There's no way these unis can be considered "Great Again!"
