Boogie Nights! Jumpsuits - Part 5!

Here at the Kathy Loghry Blogspot we are always attuned to requests from our readers.  So when I heard "More jumpsuits!" I thought "Yes, more jumpsuits it will be!!"  And the request was specifically for disco jumpsuits!!

"Awesome" I thought..........except that the Big Book catalogs of the 70s were a little light on the whole disco thing (I'm not sure why, perhaps they knew most of the actual buyers were moms and grandmas.)  Sooooooo, here is my best shot at fulfilling that request.

Not sure this is exactly disco.  After all Kathy and Jane Cullen are just way too cute to pull off the disco look.  Still, they look ready to step out and party!! (1)

This is more like it!!  Flared bell bottoms, midriff cutouts, and plunging necklines, oh my!! Time to get get your boogie on!!

Speaking of plunging necklines!!

We're not after "Value", we're after disco!! And Aldens comes up a bit short here.  Still Kathy looks great!!
Yep, not disco, but definitely cute!!

Just when you think the Big Book catalogs couldn't produce, we have a jumpsuit in the slinkiest, sexiest, body-conscious knits around!!

The year is only 1971, but this eye-catching yellow piece would fit in nicely in the discotheques of the late 70s.

She's a maniac, manic on the floor.  And she's dancing like she never danced before.  See what I mean.   Here we are in the late 70s and just a few short years shy of Flashdance.  Hey, what happened to her foot?

There it is.  Yep, we're definitely in the disco era here!!  Just add a mirror ball and some strobe lights and we're ready to shake, shake, shake.....shake , shake, shake....shake your booty....shake your booty.

Yes, the jumpsuits of the disco era were great fun!!  may they live i our memory forever!!

  2. Hi!! Thank you SO much for honoring my request for Disco jumpsuits! I was thrilled to see you actually included a pic of the one I was searching for, the green and white cut out jumpsuit by Aldens! I'd love to find this catalog, please tell me what year Aldens catalog this is from, spring/summer I assume? Thanks so very much!!

    1. I was happy to oblige you! It's a great idea for a post. The pic of the green jumpsuit with the cutouts is from the 1977 Aldens SS edition. And I do believe that the model is Laura Jones.

    2. THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH!!! I really appreciate your help! I just ADORE this blog, you are so funny and make my day reading all the cool, fun, informative info. Keep making us smile!

    3. You're most welcome!! I really enjoy doing this blog. And the feedback from loyal readers like you is most appreciated!! I've commented on this before, but I always loved the Big Book catalogs when I was young. There was something about them that fascinated me. Little did I know that many years later I'd be "blogging" about them on something called the "internet."
