No, no, no not the kind of tunics that you'd wear to a toga party. Rather tunics were one of those odd little fashion trends of the late 70s....
Kathy and Kay with Kay in a groovy looking tunic from Penneys!!
Tunic with a hoodie, very nice!!
Penneys went a little overboard pushing the tunic look here!
Karen in some black and white tunics. You have to love the pattern. It's like she is wearing an entire flower garden.
More black and white tunic looks.
Tunics weren't just for juniors. Nope, even the ladies got into them.
Sears got into the tunic scene also, except that they call them "Big Tops"
Probably not a good sales tactic to show a Big Top right next to Laura Jones in some Daisy Dukes.
Now Laura is on a Sears Big Top. I think I prefer the daisy dukes.
But nobody did the tunic quite like Penneys!!
Three tunics to choose from!! And the hoodie is back. How come Kay always got to model the tunic with the hoodie? I guess that's one of those 70s mysteries that we will never be known.
I think tunics were in style because when women wore pants (*gasp*), they had to cover their derrières! That was actually the dress code when my mother taught in the 1970s. Jacket, tunic-- needed that extra layer of fabric!
