Spring Break Week, Part 6. St. Patrick's Day Edition!

What happens when St Patrick's day falls on a Saturday during the week of Spring Break?? Well you'd think that everyone would be wiped out by now from a week of partying....

Kinda like this guy......................

But you'd be wrong.....................

Very wrong!!

So now is the time that I slip in that perfect pic of Kathy in a green swimsuit to go with the theme.....
Well at least Karen and Kathy are dressed for St. Paddy's day, but not so much the beach!!

At the beach, I guess the swimsuits will have to wait!!

Spring Break,Part 5, And the Most Popular Spring Break Destination is...

Home....

Yep, despite all the "Whoa Whoa" of Fort Lauderdale and the"too cool for school" sophistication of the ski slopes, the most popular destination for college kids is.....home.

Yeah that's my story.

Because, let's face it. When you are a tired, hungry college kid, you want to go home, especially if you've had a tough semester or year.

And Kay always reminded me of my High School girlfriend, whoops, TMI.    Yeah, I had my ski trip to Monarch and it was fantastic, but otherwise, my Spring Breaks were spent back in Chickasha, Ok. at the Club with my family and a good steak meal, good whiskey, and good wine.

Yeah, can't beat that by a country mile....

Spring Break Part 4, Lake Havasu!!

Tucked away in the desert in western Arizona near the California border is a place that becoming one of America's best Spring Break destinations.

Nope, it's not a beach (well not one by the ocean).  For those college party animals that are landlocked, there is Lake Havasu!!

Yeah one does not need an ocean to have a Spring Break blowout!!

One thing about a party on a lake is that the guy with the boat gets girls!!

And one thing that Lake Havasu has during Spring Break is boats.

Lots and lots of boats....

Like I said, have boat have girls.......

So how did the Big Book catalogs of the 70s have in the way of lake party attire??
Well, basically the same thing as for the beach!! Bikinis are always welcome - salt or fresh water!!

 Coordinated lake attire, nice!!

One pieces are welcome too!!

So how is Spring Break at Lake Havasu going this year???
Looking good!!  Kind of makes wish I was back in college!!

Spring Break Week, Part 3, The Snow Crew!!

While most college kids head to sunny beaches down south, there was always a few hardy souls who'd travel the OPPOSITE direction - towards the ski slopes!!

And our Spring Break Week Spectacular wouldn't be complete without a post of them!!

Looks like Penneys was the "go to" place for all your skiing needs!!

They even had your snowmobiling needs covered!!

The beach guys had their tehir babe, wet t-shirt contests, and endless bing drinking, yawn!, So primitive and classless.  The ski crown was MUCH more sophisticated, and it was more couples oriented!!

Look at all the happy couples.

Yeah, we had our babes too!!

And the air was always fresh, and, er, what's going on here?  What happened to the "sophisticated" angle?

This is looking more like Daytona Beach!!

Heck the girls even wear bikinis now!!

Okay, okay, I definitely do NOT remember this from my Spring Break days on the slopes.

Of course, one of the best parts of spending Spring Break skiing was the "Apres Ski".....

Yep, this pic was taken at a ski resort, not Fort Lauderdale.  The hot tub scene was always a welcome reward to a hard day on the slopes.

Babes, beer, pizza, snow, and......selfies?!?!?!  This pic is NOT from the 70s for sure!!  Some things never change and some do!!

And after all is said and done, at teh end of a long, fun day there is one more activity for teh couples....

One way to stay nice and toasty warm in the cold weather!!
